Business in the UK has changed substantially in recent years. The economy, political unrest, government changes – all these things have an effect on how business is performing and the way we conduct business.
There are plenty of statistics out there to give us a data driven insight into the state of the economy. But as business leaders, we know that there’s much more to our experience of business that the statistics can tell us.
That’s the driving force behind Company Check’s Business Census. We’re taking a snapshot of the British economy now by asking the people who experience it every day to tell us about the year they’ve had and what they expect for 2016.
We’ve been running the Business Census survey via the Company Check website and have had over 1,000 responses from business leaders sharing their experiences. We’re already seeing some common trends coming through and will be analysing the results alongside statistical data to give an insider view of the business climate today.
The second half of the Business Census survey explores predictions for the coming year – what we expect to happen within our own businesses, where we see growth coming from and what we predict for the wider business population.
The Company Check Business Census will be produced as a full report to be released in December.

Why Company Check?
While reports into the state of the economy aren’t uncommon, it’s rare that they take into account the real time experiences of business people.
As the UK’s most used source of business data, Company Check has over 500,000 users who represent businesses of all shapes and sizes from across the UK. By conducting the survey through Company Check, we open it up to a very large, highly representative sample which we believe will give us one of the most comprehensive business censuses of its kind to date.
